Nostalgic Treasures

There's nothing like a Garage Sale to make you think of your favorite things from childhood.  Maybe it's a book your parents read you as a child, maybe it's a board game you played with a friend or maybe it's something from your favorite TV show.  In this case, it's
M-i-c-k-e-y M-o-u-s-e!

Look for Mickey Mouse and other nostalgic treasures guaranteed to take you back at the Garage Sale in November!

30 Years of Service Honored

On Wednesday, April 13, The Settlement Club announced some big news - the dedication of a new playground in honor of Executive Director, Linda Addicks Kokemor.

The new playground will be constructed next to the new Independent Living facility and Foster and Adoption Center.

The huge secret was finally revealed at the club's general meeting.  We can't wait for this new, beautiful playground to be completed!

Thank you for 30 years of service to our children, Linda!

Music to My Ears

Yesterday, we had a very talented group on campus - the Wild Basin Winds woodwind quintet.  In addition to being extremely gifted and talented, these musicians were also fun!  My favorite part was their 26 song "remix", where the kids here tried to identify all 26 songs.  It was great!

They say that music can be therapeutic.  Well, I certainly felt it!  I think I was humming "Yanee Doodle Dandy" for the rest of the day.
